Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Erkennen von Fremdkörpern in landwirtschaftlichen Erntemaschinen, bei denen das Erntegut über eine Fördervorrichtung dem Arbeits­aggregat zugeführt wird. Das Ziel, ein einfaches und be­triebssicheres Verfahren zu entwickeln, soll erreicht werden, indem mit weniger Verfahrensschritten ausgekommen wird, das Verfahren unempfindlich gegenüber Störimpulsen und Umwelteinflüssen und auch die im Erntegut einge­betteten Fremdkörper erfaßt werden. Das Verfahren sieht vor, das Erntegut senkrecht zur Förderrichtung mit einem beweglichen Element zu verdichten, die Beschleunigung dieses Elementes in Verdichtungsrichtung erfaßt wird, die Be­schleunigungswerte, die kleiner als eine Ansprechschwelle sind, zu löschen und die verbliebene Beschleunigung als Steuersignal einer Stoppvorrichtung oder einer Warnein­richtung zuzuführen. Die Ansprechschwelle wird dabei durch die Beschleunigungen gebildet, die beim Durchgang des Erntegutes ohne Fremdkörper entstehen.

This goal is achieved by the fact that one of the sealing elements is spring-loaded relative to the transport device and the value of the acceleration of this element in the process of moving the material to be removed is recorded, which is used as a signal to control the presence of a foreign body in the material being harvested.
The method is implemented as follows.
The harvested material is cut by the cutting unit of the forage harvester, collected by the cross conveyor auger and fed to a transport device containing sealing elements, for example, several lower, fixedly positioned feed rolls and upper feed rolls mounted above them. The latter are spring-loaded relative to the transport device, for example, relative to the lower feed rolls.
When moving, the material to be removed is compacted between the upper and lower feed rollers. Depending on the amount of material to be moved, the upper rolls are shifted to the top, because the pressing pressure remains approximately constant. The displacement movement remains approximately constant. This bias movement is rather slow, since the material to be removed is tightly sealed. If a foreign body, such as a stone, is selected by the cutting apparatus, then it is placed in the material to be harvested. If this area of material to be harvested enters the area under the first upper feed roller, then it is deflected at lightning speed, since the foreign body does not condense.
To detect a foreign body, the acceleration value of the sealing element of the first upper feed roll is recorded. In the case of passing a foreign body, the acceleration value is higher than when passing a stream of clean, cleanable material. In this case, the recording device is designed in such a way that it only works if it is the highest acceleration value of the signal controlling the presence of a foreign body in the material being harvested exceeds the value of the pure material being removed, i.e. some threshold level. The registered acceleration values characterizing a foreign body are converted, for example, by changing the field strength in an inductive system into an electrical signal. This electrical signal is applied to the collecting and processing device.
